Crédito dual

Earn College Credit in High School

​

Earn college credit while gaining hands-on career skills! Dual credit courses let you apply what you learn now toward future goals—whether that’s continuing your education or starting your career. To receive college credit, students must enroll in the dual credit program and successfully complete the course. Check with your instructor at the start of the year for enrollment details and available credits.

Enroll & Register with Ivy Tech

Step Two: Register for Classes

1)  Login: https://ivytech.dualenroll.com/login ,
2)  Click on the Courses tab to review the list of available courses.
       Optional: Search by Teacher Name or Exact Class (ex. HLHS 101).

NOTE: Your JELCC instructor will provide you with an exact list of classes.

 

Step Three: Meet PreRequisites, if applicable

What classes have to meet pre-requisites?

  • Health Sciences: HLHS 101, 102​

  • Culinary: HOSP 101, 102, 104, 108

  • IT: INFM 109, SDEV 120, ITSP 175 & DBMS 110

  • Digital Designs: VISC 101, 102, 115​

3 WAYS TO MEET PRE-REQUISITES

1) ACT, SAT, or PSAT Scores

Have you already taken the ACT, SAT, or PSAT?

Qualifying scores:
    PSAT**: Reading
- 25,  Writing - 26, or EBRW 430
    SAT*: 
Reading - 25,  Writing - 27, or EBRW 460                         
                   (SDEV 120 only -- Math - 25 or higher)
    ACT: English - 17 or higher, Reading - 18 or higher

*SAT scores based on tests taken in 2016 and beyond. 
**PSAT scores based on tests taken 2015 and beyond.  


Access your PSAT and SAT Scores → https://www.collegeboard.org/  and submit to your instructor.

2) HIGH SCHOOL GPA 2.6+

High school juniors and seniors can use the cumulative GPA after four high school semesters have been completed.
 

3) KNOWLEDGE ASSESSMENT*

If you do not have an ACT, SAT or PSAT score, or a cumulative high school GPA that satisfies the assessment requirement, you will need to complete the Knowledge Assessment. The Knowledge Assessment is free. Your score will be accepted up to four years after you take the assessment.
 

Complete the Knowledge Assessment and reach your target scores.

ENGLISH - Score = 70 (for all courses)

STEM Math - Score = 70 (for IT Pathways only)

 

If you do not reach 70, you do not need to retake the Diagnostic. Instead, you can continue on to complete the Study Paths to raise your scores.
 

Pre-Requisites

1. Click on Apply to be a Trailblazer!

2. Select “New Students Apply Here”

    • VU Dual Credit - Current Term 

​

  • Course Selection:

    • Mark YES for "Do you attend a Career Center?"

    • ADD your High School - example: North Central High School

    • ADD your Career Center - J. Everett Light Career Center

      • If you skip this step, your dual credit course(s) may not appear.​

  1. Select “Returning Students Login Here”

  2. Login with the email address and password associated with their VU account

  1. Go to vinu.edu

  2. Click the VU-x link on the right side of the screen and enter your username & password.

 

If you cannot remember your password, click the “forgot your password link” and follow the onscreen instructions

Hay tantas oportunidades excelentes en JEL y me enorgullece trabajar con nuestros estudiantes a través de muchas facetas en JELCC, incluidas las oportunidades de crédito doble, la capacitación en habilidades blandas y la Sociedad Nacional de Honores Técnicos. Enseñé una combinación de matemáticas y ciencias en JELCC durante 13 años antes de pasar a mi nuevo puesto. Tengo una licenciatura en psicología, una maestría en educación y mi licencia de administrador. Me encanta trabajar con nuestros estudiantes en mis diversos roles y me encanta verlos prosperar y perseguir sus pasiones. Fuera de la escuela, disfruto practicando todo tipo de deportes y viendo a los Hoosiers, Dawgs (¡Go Butler!) Y Colts con mi esposo. También me encanta explorar el mundo viajando, comiendo y cocinando, ¡y me esfuerzo por aprender algo nuevo todos los días!

Trabajo bajo la supervisión de la Sra. Steffey en la oficina de Servicios Estudiantiles. Algunas de las tareas que realizo son ingresar datos de crédito dual, programar recorridos y sombras, y administrar cuentas de redes sociales para JEL. Fuera de la escuela, me gusta pasar tiempo con mi familia, probar manualidades hechas por mí mismo y cantar en el grupo de adoración de mi iglesia.
